We first brought our four cats to Slaterville veterinary clinic in April of 2022.  It is possible, that Pete and Callie were the first patients that the new clinic saw.  From the first interactions with the staff, it was clear that this was a special place.  During the visit, Dr. Scott and her staff spent time with us answering all questions that we had about our cats.  At each appointment, they all made us feel like we were the most important patient that they would see that day.  It was extremely refreshing to not feel rushed during our visit.  The rest of the cat crew made their way to the office during the first few months that Slatersville was open.  In August of 2022, we added an English Cream Golden Retriever to the family.  Our new addition made us quickly realize what a truly special place Slaterville Animal Clinic was for our family.  On Allie’s initial visit Dr. Scott diagnosed Allie with an issue that would require her to see a specialist in the future.  The team at Slatersville arranged for us to visit a specialist.  After visiting the specialist, we had a plan of attack to deal with Allie’s condition.  Unfortunately, prior to Allie’s surgery she got very sick due to complications from her existing issue.  I messaged Dr. Scott about what was going on and she scheduled me for an appointment first thing the next morning.  Keep in mind that it was a Holiday and Monday morning.  We spent several hours with the staff and Dr. Scott trying to diagnose what was going on with Allie.  We then went to an emergency animal hospital to get an ultrasound.  While at the hospital, the issue seemed to pass.  The next morning, I called Dr Scott back and I stated that I was still nervous about Allie and didn’t think she was getting better.  She told me to bring her in so she could recheck her.  They changed her meds and she was on her way to recovery. 

Dr. Scott after making several calls was able to find a specialist to perform her surgery.  Prior to the surgery, they wanted to perform an Ultrasound to see if there was anything that they needed to be concerned about during the surgery.  During the Ultrasound, they noticed that Allie had developed another issue that would make the surgery even more challenging.  You would have thought at that point we may have felt defeated that such a young puppy was so sick, but Dr. Scott didn’t give up.  She found an animal hospital in Boston to do Allie’s surgery.  During the consultation at the Boston animal hospital, they told me how fortunate we are to have a veterinarian like Dr. Scott.   She stated that Dr. Scott was a very strong advocate for Allie and she would not take no for an answer.  We could not have been more pleased with the hospital who also had great things to say about the care that Allie has received from Slatersville.  With the surgery behind us, we feel very confident that Dr. Scott and her team are the very best choice to help us manage Allie’s condition.

"We first met when taking our pup Sadie, a boxer mix about age 5 to "Dr. Suzanne" around 2004. Then along came my 8-week-old puppy Holly, a Shepard mix in 2005. Suzanne has been there for them both through wellness visits, injuries and illness with her knowledge and professionalism. I love her straight talk about caring for and raising dogs. Banjo loves Dr. Suzanne!

Banjo, my golden retriever, is the first dog I've owned. Being a dog mom can be an intimidating commitment and responsibility, but this dog-owning adventure is far less stressful with Dr. Suzanne leading the way. Of course, our routine visits are smooth and thorough, but what I appreciate most is her availability and expertise to answer my panicked messages like, 'My dog just swallowed a sock', 'Does this red spot look normal?', 'Is this amount of ear wax concerning?, 'Why does my dog suddenly have horrendous breath?. Her prompt replies instantly put me at ease because she either gives me helpful tips or recommends a visit to the office. Banjo loves Dr. Suzanne.  It's taken some time, but he has finally forgiven her for removing his testicles."
